Hi,
I am trying to add a reopening opportunity for my team and instead of adding a new status reopened, I decided to add a transition from Done to To Do and add a post function of setting the Resolution Re-opened for that transition. However, in the dropdown, there is not that resolution field value (Re-opened) to choose and I didn't find a way to add it somehow.
Please advise what can I do to have a transition with Resolution field value Reopened
Hi @Lena Sargsyan , thanks for your question.
Typically Jira issues only have a value in the resolution field when they are closed. So that is reflects how they got to be closed, if it was resolved, or something like won't do, and so on.
You can add to the list of Resolutions from the System settings menu, Issues, and then, under the Issue Attributes menu here, you can create a custom Resolution, which you can then set with the Post Function.
However, you should also be aware that this might impact any dashboards or JQL filter queries you have written because this newly re-opened issue will have a resolution. So, anything that is looking for the resolution to be empty will not return this issue in the query.
I hope this helps but if you have more questions, please don't hesitate to write back.
Cheers
