Restrict link type by project

How to configure only a subset of all the Link Types in Jira to be used in a specific project?

E.g. In project XPTO I want to allow the user to select only  'blocks' and 'duplicates' link issue types (Outward and Inward), and no other, no matter what they can be, so the user will not see  the other unnecessary link types in the selectable list box.

Hello @Tom Earley

Is this still an issue for you or were you able to find a solution?

After looking into this myself I was able to find a workaround though it would mean increased admin work to get this to work from Jira to Confluence:

Atlassian Team suggested solution

The recent update to the solution by Philip Molaro:

"manually putting links in the description, but it would be super nice if the auto-link would either auto anchor to the first instance of the ticket number on the page"

I completely agree with his sentiment, it would be nice if the Jira Issues macro were able to do this out of the box without manual intervention.

Another Atlassian Team suggested solution, this would still be the same amount of manual work.

There is a suggested improvement on the jira.atlassian backlog. I would suggest voting for this improvement.

The suggested improvement though is in regards to Anchor syntax, not the Jira Issue Macro, I would suggest contacting Atlassian and submitting an improvement that would achieve Philip Molaro's and your requirements.

Hope this helps,

Danny
