I am newish to JIRA. The company I work for is using JIRA software for a service desk, not using JIRA service management. We currently have a public portal. I am trying to capture more information from the user creating a request in the portal. How can I display additional user information from the requester when they submit a ticket? I'd like to know the company name, maybe department, contact info etc.....when looking at a ticket. How can I accomplish this? If possible I'd like for them to register once with all the info and then be able to display the info in JIRA. Having a form that they would have to fill details out every time a request is made is not something I want to pursue.
I found a couple of pages that talk about adding custom user properties for your Jira User accounts. These may be helpful to you.
