I'm trying to create a new status, I can write the name like TO CHECK, but Jira is returning me a error. The way that looks, I can't create a new status, can anyone confirm this, if the problem is that I can create status only on the beginning of the project? Or is my account?
Hi @Thalles Moussalem Luciano,
Where and how are you trying to create a new status?
What is the error you are getting?
Hi Walter, I'm trying to create as a column in a next-gen as you said, but I've tried in a workflow as well.

Concentrate on one of the ways to create a status and work through to the point of failure - we need to know what steps you are doing, most importantly, the last click that takes you to an error
For example, you go to settings -> issues -> statuses, click add new, it asks you for a name, so you fill one in and click the add button and it says <some error> instead of creating it.

Hi @Thalles Moussalem Luciano,
Just trying to help out here. To add a status in a next gen project, just click the + button next to the rightmost column of your board. A new column should appear, just like you can see here:
Then you need to click the little v icon to confirm. To wrap it up, you only need to drag the column to the correct place on the board, so you end up with something like this:
So what are you doing differently or when do you get an error message if you try to do this? And what is the exact error message?

Hi @Walter Buggenhout _ACA IT_ , sorry for taking so long to answer, I'm doing like you posted, in clicking on the + button, I witre the name of my new status like "TO CHECK", and then I click on the little v icon, but after that, the system showed me this message on the left bottom corner:
This message is written in "Portugues", the meaning is: Something went wrong. There was an error with our system. Refresh the page and try again.
And I've tried many times, and this is not the real problem, but I don't know where is the problem of this error.

Hi @Thalles Moussalem Luciano,
On the bright side, you are not doing anything wrong in terms of the steps you are taking. The error you see is a system error that is not very informative, so the only things I can currently think of is:
To make sure it's not the first thing: have you tried creating a column with another status name? Just wondering if To Check is something that already exists somewhere and you're accidentally running into a duplicate status issue.
If that's not the problem, I think you should reach out to Atlassian support directly. In that case, is it true you are on the free plan?

Hi @Walter Buggenhout _ACA IT_ ,
Actually, I have create a status in the beginning of the project, but now I'm having this issue.
I'm using a free plan, but I don't know if this is the problem, but is a good check to make, I gonna talk with someone from the support, to help me check if there is any problem in my project.
Thanks for your help.

Hello @Thalles Moussalem Luciano ,
I'm checking in on this issue to first see if you are still encountering an error while trying to create the new status, as we took a look and were unable to reproduce this error on our test systems.
Next, as you are on a free plan you will not be able to contact support directly as free plans are only granted access to access to self-help resources and assistance here in the Community portal as covered in the "Atlassian Support Offerings" , However in cases like this where there appears to be a Bug in the system preventing the intended use of the system, we will want to get you in contact with our support and make a support request on your behalf so we can look at your instance directly and dig into the issue further to apply a fix.
So please do let me know if the error is still occurring and I will get things rolling.
Regards,
Earl
