We're on Jira Server version 8.13 (EOL 8 October, 2022) and we'll need to upgrade soon.
I'm trying to decide if we should upgrade now to Jira Server LTS version 8.20 or wait until October/November when there could be another LTS release. We are also planning on migrating to the cloud and we could be pretty busy in Oct/Nov with this planning.
The Questions
The EOL for version 8.20 is 19 October, 2023 which is only four months before they end Server support. I'm not 100% sure we'll be migrated to the cloud by then, though I think we'll be close.
I'm assuming at least one more released will happen in October 2022 and be supported until Feb 2024 but I was wondering if someone can confirm.
Madeline
I did get a response from Andriy in the other post and I had also put in a support ticket.
I was told in the support ticket that there is a LTS version that will be 9.x and it should be out very soon. I am assuming that "very soon" is well before October.
This helps with my project planning and I will wait for 9.x LTS version before I upgrade.
Hi @MadelineBarr ,
You've probably seen the same articles than me, but just in case:

If you check this other question, Andriy Yakovlev from Atlassian provided some information on upcoming releases, maybe you can ping him there:

Appreciate the feedback, Carlos.
Yes, I have read through most of that but unfortunately none of it says anything about LTS versions.
I did see that other post but I must of skimmed over Andriy's reply. I'll see if I can comment on that conversation. Thanks for the suggestion.
