Multiple Status view in column?

Hannah Falconer April 17, 2024

Hi,

Is there any way to view multiple status's separated out in one column? For example:

Column: Testing

Status: Test ready

Status: In testing

Hi Hannah - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

What type of project is it? Jira Software? Jira Work Management? Team-managed? Company-managed?

Hi @John Funk it is team managed.

Then the answer is no, you can't have multiple statuses in a single column. You can create a second board where you can do that if you like. See this article on how to do that if you are interested.

Hi @Hannah Falconer

While you can have multiple statuses mapped to the same column, you cannot transition to another status within the same column. You can still transition via the Status button on the ticket though.

Thank you for the response @Josh Costella , would this be something you would be able to do with Confluence?

Tried looking into whether I could set up any filters to achieve but struggling to see if that can be done.

@Hannah Falconer Unfortunately, Confluence won't be able to help in this case. I would recommend just adding the additional statuses to the workflow. In your example, it's obvious what is occurring when the tickets are in those statuses. You can create a quick filter or regular filter that can show the tickets in those statuses and give you more options for reporting.

Thank you @Josh Costella I am struggling to know what filter to create as really we need visibility on the actual status within the column. I.e Testing column has two status's testing staging and testing production.

@Hannah Falconer Is there a reason you can't just add those two statuses to the workflow and columns? It's really only one additional column than what you have now.
