Map users of JIRA from different domain

Amit Anand December 9, 2020

There are few ABC organization users who are migrated to xyz organization and we need to maintain traceability of their issue and now these ABC organization users are going to get login with xyz organization

Let us know the way we should opt so that when they login with new xyz organization they can able to do all transition as they were doing with their ABC organization in JIRA.

Example: Mapping need be done for

Abc1@abc.com and xyz@xyz.com

abc@abc.com  and abc@xyz.com

Hi @Amit Anand

Welcome to community. In order to perform such mapping correctly, ensure you have Atlassian Access and both domains are claimed. it will be easier for you to change the user's email address from abc.com to xyz.com without any hassle and still have the users issues intact to avoid any duplicated account creation.

Thanks for quick reply !

We cant claim both domains as we dont have access to source domain but we have data dump of Atlassian tools(source domain) which we need to map to target domain by importing data.

When we import data user mapping is not functioning properly as user base is changed,we need to map users and group of source to target one ,may be my mapping only user alias name.

Is that possible to do ?

Can we configure our Local LDAP to have same user name as source one but with different domain name?

Thanks

Amit Anand
