hi so i am searching for a product that works best and found work management is what we need. Is it possible to have Jira work management subscription for my team without the Jira software subscription or i have to buy both to be able to use the work management product?

My team cares for the management part but when i saw the subscriptions i found that i will be billed both subscriptions (software and work management)

Yes, you can have separate licencing for Software and Work Management in the same system.  It's hard to explain quickly, but a simple config example can show it really easily:

In the application management section in admin, you can do a really simple setup that says "members of this group can use this application (and hence cost you a licence subscription for it)".  For example:

  • People who can use Core / Work management:  Core-users
  • People who can use Software:  Software-users
  • People who can use Service Management:  Agents

With this setup, you'll find

  • People in the group Core-users can use work management and have access to Software and Service Management projects (but not use Software boards, or act as Agents)
  • People in the group Software users can use all the projects, and the boards for Software, but they cannot act as Agents
  • People in the group Agents can use all the projects, and act as Agents in the Service Management projects, but they can not use the boards or other software functions

There is a slight quirk you'll notice in there - the Software and Agent subscriptions include a Core subscription, so you don't need to chew up an additional Core licence seat for Agents or Software users.
