Jira Cloud - Team field is blank

Hey everyone :)

We'd like to use the Team field so that we can have separated team boards.

I've added the Team custom field, but it still says LOCKED beside it.  And when I use the Team dropdown in my issue, it has no results and has the following message:

• plan specific teams can only be selected through a plan

Is this field not for this purpose?

Hi @Ajay Sharma,

welcome to the Atlassian Community.

The team field you're talking about is actually a field which is related to Advanced Roadmaps for Jira, see also these Atlassian docs for more details.

If you're rather searching for a custom field to add your own team names in - and are not planning to use the Advanced Roadmap capabilities, I'd recommend you create a custom field (of type single select) and add your teams as possible values.

Then you can configure the boards based on this custom field.

Thanks Matthias, I had always used a custom field for this but though this was maybe a dedicated field for that purpose but that makes sense, appreciate the feedback :)
