Hi everyone!
We want to be able to add sub-tasks to issues that will appear as bugs. We've opened a new sub-task issue type in the sub-task page, but we can't find anywhere to change the issue type - Not in the sub-task screen and not in the father issue (task) screen.
Anyone knows how to do that?
Thanks!
Hi @Omril and welcome to the Community!
Creating a new sub-task issue type in Jira's global configuration will only work for Company managed projects.
To make it available in your projects, you will have to:
This may take a bit of a learning curve, so be sure to have a look at the following support articles to learn more:
Hope this helps!
Thank you very much! The problem was that I didn't associate the issue type to the project. I didn't understand it's needed on sub-tasks as well.

This may be down to the type of project you are using. Have a look to the bottom of the column on the left of your page - it'll tell you whether the project is team or company managed.
If you are in a team-managed project, it's simple - these do not support different types of sub-task (yet), it's either sub-tasks or no sub-tasks.
In a company-managed project, you can have as many sub-task types as you would like, and @Walter Buggenhout has given you the rest of what I would say about configuring and working with them. But I think you asked about changing the sub-task's type as well - in a CMP, you can use the "move" option to change the type, or, if you put the issue-type on screen, you can directly edit it to be another one, if the two types are using the same configuration.
