Is there no way to apply a custom text color via markdown in the new JIRA issue editor?

Was previously using the syntax {color:#0090CA}blue text{color}. Now it looks like I'm restricted to just a handful of color options from the WYSIWYG editor.

Welcome to Atlassian Community!
As far as I know by searching on our documentation and also on the web, markdown does not support colors, so it won't work on our editor.

This was supported on the old view... it is not cool they take out functionality that was already out there on new versions...
