Is there a way to import JIRA projects between different JIRA versions

Deleted user January 12, 2015

Hi,

I have a JIRA project in version 6.2 and then i am trying to import the project to 6.1.5 version. Now i have downloaded the plugin configuration manager and have got the project configuration in place between 2 JIRA environments but import of data or issues needs the exact version of JIRA and hence i am not able to import the project. Can you please help?

Thanks

Shalini

The xml is not backwards compatible.  You could try importing the 6.2 data (all of it, using "restore from xml") into a temporary development system you create at version 6.1.5, then export it again, but I would not guarantantee that is going to work.

Otherwse, you're going to need to manipulate all the xml to downgrade it, and that's not easy.
