Is there a way to add an epic to a next gen user story from the Create page?

We'd like to add the epic link field to the new user stories/tasks/bugs from the initial create issue screen.  Is this possible?

No, this is not possible.

You can manipulate what fields are available through the Configure Fields option in the issue view. There are no distinctions between Create, View, and Edit screens for Team Managed projects.

Additionally, the Team Managed projects don't use the Epic Link field to track the link between a child issue and its parent Epic. Instead those projects use the Parent field. And that is not a field that is available to choose to display or not display.

The only ways to add a story to an Epic in a Team Managed project are:

- Select Create Child Issue when viewing the Epic

- If the story is already created, drag it to the Epic in the Epic Pane displayed on the Backlog screen.

- If the story is already created, use the Add Epic option at the top of the view of the story.
