Inherit JIRA Fields from EPIC to story /task

Is there a way to populate fields of a task or story that is linked to an EPIC with the field designated in the EPIC?

such as FIX VERSION, PRIORITY etc

Hi Eleanor,

Yes you can copy the values of fields in an Epic down to linked Tasks by using Automation for Jira.

However, what type of project is it - Team-managed (Next-gen)? Or Company-managed (Classic Software)?

The project is Company-managed (classic software)

You should be fine then with the Company-managed project.

Be careful using automations on such topics if you have >1 project set up (which usually should be the case)!

The number of available automations is ridiculously low and you can brick your automation setup quite fast. 
Automation is a quite useful feature, the usage limits on the other hand are one of the worst ever published to the market.
