I can't seem to move my timeline bar

I tried to utilize the timeline bar in a project but I cannot move it:

timelinebar.jpg

All of my timeline bars are part of an Epic, and all of them are added in sprints. What I want to do is for our sprints, I should be able to adjust the bar to reflect the dates (For example, development takes place on the first 8 days, then testing is on the 9th and 10th day, etc.)

How do I achieve this?

Hi @David Christopher Castillo ,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like your bars are part of an Epic with their own sprint dates (not an Epic themselves.) if so, then know Timeline bars "are supported for only Epics."

More explanation provided here from this ticket (when Timeline was called Basic Roadmaps) : https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/How-to-show-the-timing-bar-in-roadmap-mode-for-all-issue-types/qaq-p/1825076

"The roadmap (now Timeline) view is designed for the epics and it's progress over a period of time. This is because, as per Scrum framework the product owner (business stakeholders) plans for a release date/ period given the market demand.

As we know the epics has user stories spanned either within a single project team or across project teams. So, epic time line view will be an apt and primary functionality."

 Solutions available to you:

1. You'd need to upgrade to Premium for Advanced Roadmaps to have more control over what bars are adjustable.

2. You can also use a 3rd party tool to create Gantts/ Roadmaps, like Visor:  https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1226209/visor-flexible-spreadsheet-for-jira-roadmapping-bulk-edits?hosting=cloud&tab=overview

I hope that helps.

Hi @David Christopher Castillo ,

You can do the scheduling of your Jira issues - start date and due date which will be shown here.

For your requirement of development in 8 days, testing is on 9th & 10th? Can you please elaborate are you maintaining this data in any field?
