How to update the Team field in Sub-tasks without a Plug-in

Our teams use the Team field in premium, however sub-tasks do not allow edit of the Team field, nor does it pre-populate with the parent's Team.

I have tried to do some automation using ideas here https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/Inherit-Team-field-from-parent-issue-using-Automation/qaq-p/1541911 but none of them worked.

Without this field populated, the teams cannot see sub-tasks on their board if multiple teams are in the same project.

This is a major issue for me as well. Jira says the subtask should always inherit values from the parent, but that works very inconsistently. Having a blank Team field is not helpful at all.
