I am looking to configure a custom email address to be notified when a new ticket is created.
Can someone share some guidance on how to do this? thanks
Is the email associated with a Jira user? If so then you can use a post function to include the user as a Watcher. If they are not a user then you can use Automation to send an email to the addresses for each ticket created matching the desired conditions.
