How to pre-fill the new Parent dropdown field with a value from the URL

I used to be able preselect the Epic by adding the value to the URL when opening a new Jira issue form: ...&customfield_10008=NI-22

Now this field is replaced by a field called "Parent": Epic Link - Use the Parent field instead of Epic Link.

How can I get the epic value in the new parent field populated via value provided through the URL?

parent should work - have you tried this in the URL?

If it isn't working the alternative could be to set the parent post-creation, using Automation?
