I' m looking for migrating everything I currently have in my JIRA to Trello. Is there any way to do it instantly ? Every article that's available on the web is for JIRA to Trello migration :(
Thank you !
There's a lack of information on this (as opposed to Trello to Jira) because most people would not do it. Jira is a powerful issue tracker, whereas Trello is a lightweight pin-board system. Most people go Trello to Jira as they outgrow the basic item tracking Trello is good for and they need something more structured, with process support and more collaborative reporting etc.
I'm not saying Jira is "better" here, it very much depends on your processes and people as to which one is better for you.
If you're migrating from Jira to Trello, the only real option is export from Jira and import into Trello. Trello doesn't really have importers in it (unlike Jira), so the import is usually done with the remote API - you could write something to use that for yourself, or lean on tools that can help you use it - I've seen Zapier, IFTTT, Autoblocks and so-on used to do imports, but you might also want to look at the apps for Jira or power-ups for Trello that claim "integrate Trello and Jira" - you might be able to use one of these to do an initial "synchronise" to get cards and issues in line with each other, and then your "migration" becomes "turn off the sync, and stop using Jira"
@Nic Brough -Adaptavist- Yes, makes sense ! The reason for migration being, JIRA is not being used extensively by the team. Hence, they want to move back to Trello. At the moment, using Import2 to check if individual projects to imported in a csv format into Trello. Will try exploring the Zapier option. Thank you for the comment !

We're a software company and use Jira extensively but I'm about to move the commercial team to Trello because Jira Work Management isn't really that friendly for normal humans and I'm hoping Trello is...

There is another good reason to migrate to Trello: it has a FEDRAMP ATO, whereas Jira does not. The ATO allows its use with government data. I'm a software developer using Trello for this reason. Can't wait for Jira & Confluence to get their ATOs.

@Antoine Berry I'm trying to migrate for a small business who are currently in JIRA, and want to move to Trello, because they aren't extensively using JIRA, and want to cut cost. (Please do post your thoughts as a separate comment) >_<

Hi @Aisha M ,
I am sorry I am not that familiar with Trello. However Nic's answer seems thorough so I think it is best to refer to his wisdom. I will accept his answer and I am sure he will be glad to help you if you need further assistance. :)

@Antoine Berry Actually, it's a very small business. So, we just created everything from scratch in Trello. Also, Trello seems so flexible & perfect for anyone who feel JIRA to be a bit overwhelming. :)

Agreed, Trello is a really good compromise if you want a user friendly tool.
