HI

I tried to use automation to link a defect created during execution to a story (Hierarchy: Story/Test case/execution/defect). At the moment, the defect is automatically linked to the test case, but I'm unsure how to automatically link it to the story. This is my first time using automation, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Are there any ideas on how to achieve this, or is there another way to set it up? obraz_2024-03-19_161833608.png

Hi @sbednarz234

Can you clarify the process here?

Is it...

  • Stories are linked to test cases
  • Test cases are then linked to test executions
  • Finally, executions can be linked to defects

So essentially, the defects are 3 layers of linked issues away from the Story?

And...

  • Are all these linked together using standard linking?
  • Are these all issue types?

---

You need a method to identify the Story from the Defect - is there a simpler way than multiple linked issues?
