How to know who deleted the Jira ticket?

Hello Team,

Hope you are all fine  doing well,

I'm a project admin and want to know who deleted any tickets and what tickets were deleted as tracker and asking about the possibility to find a report or footprint for such actions and if cannot what role should be taken to avoid such cases?

Thanks & BR,

Hi @Haitham M_Kamal

Jira does not have a built-in feature for providing audit log for deleted issues, therefore deleted issues are lost forever.

To have audit log for your deleted issues, you can use Track Deleted Issues app developed by our team. After installing the app, both bulk and single issue deletions are logged. You can see when and by whom your issues are deleted.

If you also want to restore your deleted issues, you can use our Restore Deleted Issues app.

Below you can find an article about tracking and restoring deleted issues in Jira.

How to Track and Restore Your Deleted Issues in Jira

Hope it helps.

Hi @Haitham M_Kamal

Another solution you can check out is the Issue History app (if you're on Cloud). My team has launched the Keep deleted issues option to track who has deleted a ticket and when.

@Haitham M_Kamal ,

Welcome to the Community

As per this request  https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-59371

For Jira Data Center you can get this information in jira 8.8.

Accept the answer if it helps

Hi,

Actually Atlassian fixed this through https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-59371 from Jira DC 8.8 in May 2020 so 2 years before your question ?

"

The team determined that this particular functionality was required by our enterprise customers and for that reason has been shipped in the Data Center versions of Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket

We are excited to announce that tracking issue delete operations in audit log can be found in Jira 8.8.0
