How to import a field to eazybi as dimension?

Yousif Al Rawahi March 19, 2024

Is there a way to import a 'Model' field to eazybi as dimension, because currently I can import as property only?

Do I need to modify anything in Jira assets in order I can import as a dimension?

FYI: These fields are actually objects from Jira assets.Screenshot 2024-03-19 143731.png

Hi @Yousif Al Rawahi

eazyBI recognizes the data type of the object attributes and, depending on that determines how it should be imported. Select lists, objects, etc., are suggested for import as dimensions. By default, free text attributes are available for import as properties.

But you can update the attribute data type and enable the import as a dimension via the eazyBI advanced settings - https://docs.eazybi.com/eazybi/data-import/data-from-jira/assets#Assets-AdvancedsettingsforAssetsobjectattributes.

For example, in my case, to enable the "dimension" option for the attribute "Monitor type", I determine its ID.

Then, I updated the eazyBI advanced settings with the parameters below:

[source_application.assets.customfield_4564]
data_type = "string"
dimension = true

Change the ID 4565 to represent your attribute ID. After updating the eazyBI advanced settings, I can import the attribute as a dimension.
