I'd like to hide the transition "assign" in the status "OPEN", because we'll assin the case at an later time, but i want, the field "Assignee" is still available for editing in this status.
Of course I know, how to set properties in Status "OPEN" (jira.permission.assign = false) and then the transition is hidden for all users. But if i set this propertis, than is unfortunately the field "assignee" also not available.
Is there any way?
kind regards
Josef
Hi Josef,
What if just put a condition on the transition so that only a limited group of people can see the transition.
Hi John, thanks for your answer, but this is unfortunately not an "transition" in the workflow, but about the system application "assign"

I am confused then, your first line above says 'I'd like to hide the transition "assign"'. So are you saying that you don't want people to be able to update the Assignee field if it is in a particular status?

I'm sorry for the confusion ;-)
I would like to hide the system transition "Assign" in one status, but the field "Assignee" should be available for during an workflow transition in this status.

You are not going to be able to hide a field "sometimes". You can either see the field or not. And you can either edit the field or not.

I actually have a different problem: I would like to hide a workflow transition if the assignee of the issue is a specific user (userfoo). How can I do that?
