How to automate updating a field from a linked ticket to another ticket

I am trying to automate the updating of the epic field from a linked ticket. I have tried using 'copy field from parent' and 'copy field from linked issue' in the automation menu however it doesn't seem to work. See screen shots below. Any thoughts on how to do this?

you can copy from the following as seen below but not 'linked issue' as there can be many linked issues each from a different epic.
