How to assign a workflow to a specific issue type?

Nikolay Zhlebinkov May 25, 2021

There are multiple guides online about it, yet they all use a different and non-existent (anymore) buttons.

I've tried:

- Creating a workflow and workflow scheme - couldn't find a way to activate it (assign it to a project or anything suggested here https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/Different-workflow-for-different-issuetypes/qaq-p/806732 and in the referenced links inside)

- Editing the currently used workflow - this applies it to all issue types and (frustratingly) says "Select the issue types you want to copy this workflow to:" with a disabled mouse button over that area.

Additionally, the currently used workflow for the project is shown as inactive in the admin page, even though it already works and we're using it in our project which leads me to believe that something is broken (either a bug, or a very inappropriate design choice)

Hi Nikolay - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

The first place to start is with the type of project you are using, because there are different methods involved.

This appears to be a Team-managed project from your screen shot. That being said, this functionality is not currently available for Team-managed projects. They are working on it, but it is not ready yet.

You can vote for the feature and follow along with the progress here:
