How to add defect to active sprint in rapid board

How to add defect to active sprint in rapid board

I have an active sprint in which I am raising many defects which need to be fixed. However, they all get added to the backlog (plan mode).

Is there a way to have defects added to the active sprint right away instead of having to drag them from the backlog into the active sprint?

During the sprint planning you make a certain commitment for your upcoming sprint. Imo it makes no sense to add tasks to an active sprint, these are to be considerd for a future sprint.

If you had added sprint field to the edit issue screen, you can edit the issue and enter the correct sprint number to the sprint field. Then it would added to the active sprint
