How do i make teams private?

Can somebody please tell me how can i make teams private.

What do you mean by "teams"?  There's several things you might mean in Jira, and more if you go out to look at integrations (obvious example is the one with MS-teams).

There is an option to create teams in Jira Software. I can create a team and add members to the team. How do i ensure team joining is only by invite. Currently it tells me that the team is open and anyone can join it. I don't have any way to manage the access settings for the team. Please check the screenshot. Under the People tab i can start a team and add members to it, but it tells me its an open team.

From how I the feature understand all teams are currently open, however the information in the box could be understand differently - I believe it is meant a way that there is no setting you could make in order to have members joining only by invite.

Probably somebody else chimes in and proves me wrong :)
