For how many EC2 instance i need to integrate ldap and smtp for jira data center architecture.

We want to know how many EC2 instance we need to integrate LDAP & SMTP settings in a jira data center deployment..Currently we deployed two EC2 instance for data center architecture.

It depends on the number of nodes you have in your data center deployment and as well how you are using each of these nodes.

Potentially each node might need these settings in a high availability setup. This is because any of the nodes in data center might become responsible for performing these tasks should the other nodes in the cluster become unavailable.
