I was wondering if there was a way to have filters for a software project in jira appear under the Issues section or somewhere else on the left hand column of the project

Hi @Sophie and welcome to the Community!

You cannot add a button that says Filters there that would bring you to a list of filters related to this project.

However, a few things may be good to know:

  • if your project is company managed, clicking the issues link you marked in your screenshot brings you to Jira's issue navigator. Once there, you will see a list of default and favourite filters on the left hand side of your screen.
  • In a team managed project, you need to take one additional step, as that issues button takes you to a view inside your project. Clicking Go to all issues at the top of your screen brings you to the same place.
  • You can add shortcuts to the left side bar in your project to specific filters. Given you have the right permissions, you can click Add shortcut - the button is below Project Pages, so from your screenshot I would assume you need to find a project admin to do this for you - and add links to relevant pages. This is probably not a good solution if you have many filters, but just calling it out as an option.

Hope this helps!
