Enable Modern Authentication in Jira cloud

Nico September 10, 2022

We need to enable Modern Authentication since Basic auth will be disabled from Microsoft October 1st.

To enable OAuth 2 in Jira the documentation says this:

  1. Go to Jira administration > System > OAuth 2.0.
  2. Click Add new integration.
  3. Select your Service provider.
  4. Enter your integration's name.
  5. For Google and Microsoft, we will auto-fill the authorization and the token endpoint data.

Problem is that we can't find OAuth 2.0 under settings. We are using Atlassian Cloud. Is the settings menu here different then Atlassian datacenter/server?

Hi @Nico

Modern authentication for logging in? For sending emails?

Hi @Alex Koxaras _Relational_

To receive mail. When mail is received a task is automatically created. We have implemented that today, but with basic authentication.
