Do we need to sync EFS between two AWS regions?

As per documentation, to deploy JIRA software in AWS, we need EFS. If we want to deploy application in multiple regions, do we need to sync EFS? Does JIRA sync content across regions?

You should not deploy the application in multiple regions - Data Center does not do geographical clustering yet, you should be deploying every node in the same region (ideally, the same building)

The syncing/replication is done outside of Jira.
