Do subtasks always inherit workflow from parent?

Our Engineering team is tracking their work in JIRA Type=Epics. The QE and Docs teams are using sub-tasks in those Epics to track their work.

However, the Docs team needs to use a "custom" workflow for metrics gathering that's specific to doc work. Is it possible for sub-tasks to NOT inherit the parent JIRAs' workflow?

Or is there an equivalent workaround we can apply?

Hello,

You can have a different workflow for subtasks. First create the required workflow. You can find more info here:

Then find the workflow scheme, which is associated to the required project. And add the created workflow to the subtask type in the workflow scheme. You can find more info here:
