Copy user story when completing a sprint

Lyudmila_Vincheva April 25, 2019

Hi,

Is it possible when finishing a sprint to copy the story that is not finished into a new sprint, so that it only contains the tasks that are not finished: the finished tasks remain in the original story in the old sprint and the unfinished tasks are contained in the copy of the story in the new sprint.
thanks for the help!

What you could do is, while sprint is still active, break the story into two parts and move the undone to the new story.

Thanks @Jack Brickey for your idea! I will discuss it with the developer team.

Hi @Lyudmila_Vincheva ,

Maybe this can be solved by API or some plugins, But I don't think this is the right solution. It doesn't satisfy the definition of sprint in Scrum. A sprint needs to complete the increment of deliverables.

If any of the subtasks in a story are not completed, then the story and all its subtasks should be moved to the next sprint.

Thanks @Ollie Guan , that's my opinion, too, but I wanted to know if it's possible, because my team needs it for some "special" tasks.
