Consolidating two cloud instance in Jira

Deleted user March 12, 2019

Hi--

Currently, we have two instances (with different domains/two different companies)  for Jira and billing cycle for both of them are very close (June and July). Because of the acquisition, we are consolidating all our applications.

So, we would like to have-

  • One Jira/Confluence instance for both companies (UNFI, SuperValu)
  • Bill together
  • Consolidate all the projects and issues into one instance

any suggestions on the next steps?

Thanks,

@[deleted] Consolidating 2 JIRA/Confluence Cloud instances is a project that needs considerable effort and pre-consolidation analysis (especially regarding the add-ons used in both instances, and whether data from those add-ons can be consolidated or not.)

For merging/consolidating two JIRA Cloud instances, please refer this guideline document from Atlassian: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/how-to-merge-two-different-jira-cloud-applications-together-779160767.html

Merging two Confluence Cloud instances Confluence is best done with exporting all spaces of your source Confluence separately and importing them to the target Confluence (https://confluence.atlassian.com/confcloud/export-content-to-word-pdf-html-and-xml-724764824.htmlhttps://confluence.atlassian.com/confcloud/import-a-confluence-space-724765531.html)

Thanks, it was helpful.

If we would like to Merge/consolidate two Jira cloud instance, who will do it? Is it Atlassian who provides support? (we don't have any Jira Server right now) is there any way to do it without using the Jira server?

@[deleted] There is currently no way to do this consolidation without a temporary JIRA Server instance.

SInce this is a considerable time and effort consuming task, I would recommend to hire a professional from one of the Atlassian Partners, that provide services specifically on these projects/tasks. Here you can find a list of Atlassian Solution Partners and search for the one near your geography: https://partnerdirectory.atlassian.com/?_ga=2.61164335.2020062517.1552315738-1671602508.1532093427&lang=en-us

I also work for one of those Atlassian Solution Partners, namely , Cprime Inc.

In case you want to hire Cprime Inc. to provide these services for you, you may reach out to the relevant people from Cprime team, here: http://www2.cprime.com/l/19052/2017-11-16/bmw8d9?_ga=2.76928214.2110197473.1516321833-1088581606.1515709703
