I have Jira docker running in my production environment. It slows down several times, maybe due to the extensive database. I have used default settings for the database.

Would it make Jira faster if I connect an external database with Jira for database management?

Is any guide available for configuring Jira to run with an external database? Do I need to clean install a new Jira instance, or the currently running Jira will be able to connect with the external database?

Thanks

Hi,

Do you use Jira server or Jira cloud ?

Do you mean that you're  currently using the H2 database in jira server ? If so you can look at this documentation
