Can you use Jira Automations to create a templated Confluence page with variables filled in?

I'd like to use Jira Automations to automatically create a Confluence page from a template, whenever I create a new release version in Jira. I can get this to work, however any variables I have defined in the Confluence template using "/variable" get automatically populated as blank values. Is there a way I can populate these variables using values from the Jira automation itself? For example, I would like to insert {{version.name}} in the Confluence page.
