I created a project software project in Jira (it was a "next-gen" software project - I don't have the option to use the classic builder). The intention was to use this space as a sandbox for me to break up the product requirements I write for a project.
Here's the Jira hierarchy I envisioned:
I've made sure "story", "task", and "sub-task" are issue types in the project.
For what it's worth, the following "features" for the project are also turned on:
I created a user-story as a test "project" for me to add subtasks / tasks to, but I can't find a way to add any tasks/subtasks.
I know adding a subtask is added by clicking the "add subtask" icon at the top of the user story or by clicking the plus icon in the subtasks section of the ticket.
None of that functionality is showing up for me.
Any thoughts on why that's the case?
Did some digging around and it seems like it may relate to the "next-gen" functionality, but I wanted to doublecheck with the community.
Your digging served you well - Next-gen projects do not yet support sub-tasks
