Can't add an item on roadmap

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
Hi everyone,
When I try to add an item time bar to the roadmap, Jira is only allowing me to add this time bar in the sprints that I already defined. But, since the project is a few weeks down the line, it will become polluted for my team to see a bunch of sprints until January.
Is there a way to add this item without the need to have a sprint previously created?
