Calculate Completed Story Point

Hi,

Managers in my group asked if we can set a different way of counting our completed work.

We're working with Story Point on Tasks and Stories.
The requirement is to add a "Remaining SPs" filed, compare it with "Original SPs" and calculate the completed Story Point.
The idea is that this calculated data will reflect in our reports as completed.
If needed, we have ScriptRunner.

Is that possible?

This won't work for your sprint or velocity reports, so if you're doing scrum, I would recommend not doing this.  If you are not Agile, that's fine, you'll just need to educate your people not to bother with Sprints or Scrum, and then, yes you can use Scriptrunner to do this.

This script is for adding up values by iterating over subtasks, but it shows you how to read a field from an issue and add it up to populate another.

Thank you!
We are doing Scrum. I though the same, that we can't/shouldn't work this way, but wanted to confirm.

We are looking for a similar solution.

Do we have any gadgets for the same.

As you can see from Nic's answer, this method isn't recommended.
