Burn-down Chart

Ivan Tan May 19, 2021

Hi, I am new to JIRA.

I am trying to produce a burn-down chart but could not find any report icon.

I then completed all stories in my Sprint 1 as suggested in the forum.

Still, I could not find out where to run the burn-down chart option.

Appreciate it if I can get some suggestions to help me find out what I am missing.

Thanks!

Hi @Ivan Tan

I'm on a paid plan, but I wouldn't have thought that should make a difference.

From the left hand pane, there is an option for Reports

Clicking on Reports opens the different reporting options, one of which is the Burndown chart

Do you not have these options? Show some screenshots so that we can see what you have

Gd Day Warren,

Thanks for taking the time to educate me on the functions.

Attached is my screenshot of my 2nd Sprint. I don't see any 'Reports' option on the left. I believe I have selected the team-managed projects since the 'classic' option for company-managed projects was dimmed out.

I have had my story point estimates included as well as assigned to the respective owners. I believe I have started the sprint too.

Still wondering which steps did I miss.

Ah, you have not enabled the reports.  Go into Project settings -> Features and flip the flag for reports, then come back to the board, you should find reports have appeared.

I found the place in Project Settings to enable to Reports feature. Thanks, Nic! It took me a while but it paid off. I can see the report selection and was able to run a burn-up or burn-down chart! Cheers mate!!

Go to the sprint (scrum) board, then look to the left panel for "reports".  Click on there and it'll list all the available reports.  First one I get is "Burndown" when I'm a company-managed (classic) project, and it's called "sprint burndown" in team-managed projects.  If it's not on the list, then you may not have enabled sprints in the project settings.

Thanks for replying Nic.

I sent a screenshot in my other reply below.

Just find it weird I don't see the same screens as you described.

I am pretty sure I missed some critical steps.

I typed an answer on the other thread while you were typing that comment!  :-)

I think it's the right answer though, give it a shot and let us know!
