Hello,
I am trying to use the {{issue.self}} Smart Value in an automation rule calling a webhook from Jira to external API.
I would expect the Smart Value to return rest/api/2/issue/12345 .
However it produces rest/api/2/12345 , without the /issue/ path. This URL is not accessible and returns 404.
How can I pass the API path in the automation rule so that I can modify the issue from the external service?
Hi @Mihail Chatlabashev -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
First thing, that appears to be an undocumented smart value regarding rules, but instead is referenced for Forge apps.
Next, when I try that in a rule it does produce a fully described URL.
Would you please post an image of your complete rule, including details of the use of that smart value, and of the audit log details showing the rule execution? Those may provide context to explain what you are observing.
Kind regards,
Bill
Hello Bill,
Thank you for taking time to test that.
I was able to work around my issue and construct the fully described URL using different smart values.
Kind regards,
Mihail
