Hello -
I setup a Bug Tracking template project. My question is how do I apply a filter to the template to bring the existing bugs on the project.
Any documentation I see tells me to click on the 3 dots in the corner, but I only have one option and nothing to configure the board.
What am I missing?
Hi Todd - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
What type of Project did you create? Team-managed? Company-managed? Jira Work Management/Business project?
Where do the existing bugs reside now?
Hi John - I created a project using the Bug Tracking template. It is company managed. Not sure on the last question.
Bugs are just recorded bugs attached to another project. I wrote a JQL filter to pull in the bugs from the project. Just no option to add it to my bug tracking template.

Templates are attached to Projects. So you need to know the project key of the Bug Tracking project and the project key of the current project where the bugs reside.
You can run your filter that you have that shows all of the existing bugs and then do a bulk change to MOVE them to the new project.
So run the filter and get your results.
Then click the 3 dots menu in the upper right and choose. Bulk change all xxx issue(s)
Select all of the issues and click Next
Select the option for Move Issues
Then follow the prompts the rest of the way through.

Is it possible to keep the bugs in the project they are in and also bring them into another project (Bug tracker - backlog)? This will only be to keep track of bugs not so much another project but yet using the board to do it.

You can display issues (i.e bugs) in two different boards, but they can't be in two separate projects at the same time. A board can be linked to two projects.

Thank you!! I figured it out. Using the existing project and creating a board in relation to bugs gives me what I will need.
