Best solution to cross project tasks?

John Q November 13, 2018

Say we have a Security Project and a Helpdesk project.
An issue is raised to Security and the Security team needs Helpdesk  to carry out a couple of tasks (like uninstall a program on a desktop) to see the through to it the Security issue being resolved.
Security and Helpdesk  don't have access to each other's Project.
How should Security involve the Helpdesk  so they can log their work? Add as participant? Link/Create a separate issue over to Helpdesk?

What permissions would be required to support the solution as well?

Hello John,

Analyzing the Scenario you provided, I believe the best thing to do in this case would be to create sub-tasks on your Help Desk Projects that are related to the tickets in the Security Project.

If you only need your Help Desk team to log their work,  you use the Time Tracking feature to Log their time in the Sub-task issues:

Logging time on issues

However, if you need your Agents to access information from both Security and Help Desk tickets, you would have to add them as participants.

Please, let me know if this information and the documentation help, John.

If you have further questions about it, please let us know more details of your scenario so we can better understand and give you more tips about it. :)
