Advanced Roadmap - Configuring link types

Edited

Using JIRA 8.20 Server

We have specific hierarchies (not Epic - Story) and have a conflict between link types. I wonder if we could configure Advanced Roadmaps to use a dedicated link type (rather than the Parent/Child one). Such as a "Roadmap Hierarchy Link".  Any thoughts?

(Edit) We can configure the link for dependencies between issues (In Admin > ADVANCED ROADMAPS FOR JIRA > Dependencies) to influence "A is scheduled before B". I am talking about the link between hierarchy levels "A is parent of B"

I've been searching for a solution to this also and have not found one yet.  I don't like it when things are hardcoded in software like the Parent/Child link for the roadmap functionality.  I would prefer this was customisable via the UI.

We are probably in the situation where we will have to write a groovy script to bulk change the links between all our Epics and the issues at the next level up (Which we call "Saga" - Atlassian use "Initiative") in our hierarchy. :-(
