I've created a next-gen project, and wanted to add some fields in the main view.

I can add primary and secondary fields (appears in the upper and lower right pane), but fields that appear in the main view - between the left and the right pane - can't be added/changed.

How can fields be added here?

Can I in any way change my settings to go back to the old layout instead of next-gen?

TIA

Peter

Hello Peter,

Welcome to Atlassian community.

I believe you are talking about the space under the description of the issue as highlighted in the screenshot below, is that correct?

If that's correct, this space can only be customized with fields in classic projects, but not next-gen yet. I have created a feature request so our developers can consider it in the future:

Allow the customization of the Description Area on Next-gen

Feel free to vote and watch the suggestion to increase its priority and also receive notifications about any updates.

For now, the best option we can offer would be to come back to the classic template where the mentioned space can be customized. You can achieve it by creating a new Classic project and migrate your next-gen issues to it, as instructed in the documentation below:

Migrate between next-gen and classic projects

Additionally, ensure you read the "Things to keep in mind if you migrate from next-gen to classic" section in the documentation before performing the migration.

Let me know if this information helps.

Hi PG,

Thank you for your answer.

Yes, the marked area is exactly where I want to put the new information.

I'll take a look at your request and article, and vote for it for sure :-)
