Have the same issue.

I have a story or task that can be linked with zephyr test cases through plugin. 

So the test cases from the Zephyr are NOT the Jira tickets in any way. 

and issuetype = "test case" is not relevant due to there is no such ticket types just Zephyr Test Cases linked through plugin

Just to add more, you can use the below JQL to return the test cases related to a specific story

issue in linkedIssues("ABC") and issuetype = "test case"

I would hazard a guess and say if you have a "Test Cases" field, then the JQL you would add to your existing query would be

"Test Case" is not EMPTY

Then every jira issue that has a "Test Case" would be included in that filter.
