What is the real limit of the Virtual Agent?

Greetings, dear community!

I want to share a use case that has been causing me quite a bit of frustration and about which I haven’t found clear information or any discussions.

I’m configuring the Virtual Agent for a client’s instance, and while developing the flow of an Intent, I encountered an error that isn’t very descriptive. When I try to save, it simply shows a message saying it can’t save and advises refreshing the page. After that, the instance's performance drops significantly, and the only option is to refresh the page, which results in losing all the progress made in the flow.

From what I’ve been able to observe so far, the issue seems to be related to the number of components in the flow. There seems to be a breaking point where, up to a certain number of components, I can save without any issues. However, once I exceed that number, it no longer allows me to continue. The error is quite similar to what happens in Automation when you exceed the limit of allowed components.

I’d like to clarify that the Intent I’m developing is quite large and complex; it’s not something small or simple.

To rule out specific issues with the Intent configuration, I created a test version from scratch. In this test, I built a flow starting from an Offer Choice with 10 options, and for each of those, I added 10 more options, and so on. Essentially, I’ve built a very large Intent in this test version, and I encountered the same error. After a certain number of components, the flow configurator freezes and no longer allows saving or progressing.

I appeal to the community’s wisdom and experience: Has anyone experienced this error or something similar? I also hope that through this post, we can clarify what the actual limit is for a flow in an Intent.

I think you might be better off submitting this bug to Atlassian support....

Hello community! I found this about it. Apparently a conversation flow can have a maximum of 50 steps.
