Jesse Ortega Jr May 13, 2024

Hello Community - Are there any plans by Atlassian to start backing up assets rather than having to go to separate product?

Hi @Jesse Ortega Jr

thank you for your question. Currently there has not been any update on this.

Since you as a customer are responsible for backups of the entire site anyway (Atlassian only provides for disaster recovery), I would strive for a complete backup solution.

There are several options for this in the Marketplace, for example:

Jira & Assets backup:

Assets only backup:

Hello @Jesse Ortega Jr , maybe you can try to export your data using Atlassian's Backup Manager. Here is written more about exporting Jira data:

If it comes to third-party backup tools, take a look at GitProtect backup and Disaster Recovery software for Jira Software, JWM, JSM, and Bitbucket. It provides automated scheduled and customizable backups with full data coverage. You can learn more about GitProtect backups on Atlassian Marketplace:

You can try the solution free for 14 days or it's free if you have up to 10 users.

Hope you will find the answer helpful,
