Hi,

I am using the JIRA API to produce reports concerning JIRA issues. the report application is using Ecas which is a security system used in a big organization that ensures that you must be identified before being connected to the system. After being connected to the report application, it is possible to conect from the application to JIRA again, but I don't want to connect again in Jira.

Is it possible to use a session variable that will be recognized by JIRA ?

Thanks.

Not unless your Ecas system can generate the logins.  It sounds like you need a form of SSO for that with JIRA.  To do that, you'll need to find/write something for Crowd to become the user directory for Ecas, or find one of the 3rd party SSO solutions that can handle Atlassian with others.
