Jira core vm file rendering issue view

Hi,

I am trying to change the way JIRA renders users. To be more specific I want to render some clickable button next to a user name on issue screen. I am trying to do this by altering .vm templates in jira core files more specificly in /WEB-INF/classes/templates/jira/issue/field . If I alter assignee-edit.vm or assignee-columnview.vm I can see changes I made. But if I try altering assignee-view.vm nothing happens. I basicly have 2 questions. Is there some easier way to change the way JIRA renders users? and in probable case that no which .vm file schloud I alter to change the assignee field?
